My Two Cents: For The Record

Recently, the term slam dunk has been misrepresented and casually tossed around in the media.

Being an avid basketball fan, I have a profound respect for all of its traditions including that phrases that it has produced. Therefore, I have taken it upon myself, on behalf of basketball connoisseurs everywhere, to set the record straight:

A slam dunk is not something that can be anticipated or counted on as a done deal. Until the act itself is successful and complete, you can't call the shot a slam dunk.
